As part of our Systems Engineering team in Munich, Germany, you will contribute to the development of robotic mechanisms. The role is focused on the early concept phase: surveying the available solutions, deriving concepts, and performing trade-offs, while also offering the opportunity for theoretical design work and hands-on involvement with complex hardware. We also offer the opportunity to convert the work into a Master’s thesis, with the exact topic tailored to the candidate’s interests and strengths.
Your role will include:
Assist in conceptual analysis and design trade-offs on robotic mechanisms
Survey the state of the art in robotic mechanisms to establish what solutions are available
Contribute to mechanical modeling and structural analysis, using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE
Contribute to the extension of internal Python-based tools used for mechanical design
Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis
Participate in the MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing) process
Prepare documentation for the deliverables inside mechanisms-based projects
Your profile
Enrolled in a Master’s or advanced Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field
Knowledge of space mechanisms, load-bearing structures and an interest in complex mechanical assemblies
Familiarity with structural and thermal considerations, space mechanisms and space materials is expected
Knowledge of space grade electrical and data connectors is a plus
Good to have knowledge of relevant standards such as ECSS-E-ST-33-01C and ECSS-E-ST-32-10C
Experience with the testing of space hardware is recommended
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proactive, structured approach, and able to work independently as well as in a team
We offer
Immediate and flexible start
Flexible working hours
Potential for a Master’s project and/or full-time employment afterwards
Empowerment and independence, with mentoring and access to industry experts for academic success
Subsidy for EGYM Wellpass and Deutschlandticket
Complimentary beverages, company events, and professional development opportunities
About us
We are deltaVision GmbH – a young, ambitious high-tech company based in Munich, driving the future of in-space mobility and infrastructure.
Since our founding in 2022, we have been developing, manufacturing, and qualifying advanced fluid control systems for the aerospace industry and H₂ aviation. Our expertise spans cryogenic and high-pressure propulsion systems as well as next-generation orbital refueling technologies, including couplers and fully integrated refueling systems designed for the harsh environment of space.
With our deep knowledge of fluid control for space systems, we are shaping the space economy towards refuelable and reusable spacecraft. We enable longer mission lifetimes, greater operational flexibility, and entirely new architectures for sustainable space operations.
What sets us apart?
Innovative products enabling next-generation space infrastructure
Exceptional cost efficiency through optimized design and manufacturing
Rapid development and delivery cycles beyond traditional industry standards
We are rethinking spaceflight — enabling a future where spacecraft are not disposable, but reusable, refuelable, and built to operate sustainably in orbit.
